I've seen articles and talked with biologists about this type of antler growth: one hypothesis, supported by empirical evidence, suggests that, during antler development, if/when a buck suffers a severe injury, the opposite-side antler is either smaller, "deformed" or, a combination of both.
Whatever the "cause", I'd be taking this one to the taxidermist! :) At the very least, he'd become a full skull mount! I'm surprised that a mere .308 will still kill a deer! ;) Seriously, Thank You for sharing, Todd!:) R.G
