This angle shows the "extras" - WE sure didn't have time to see everything this buck offered - we barely had time to react - but WE knew he was a keeper! For those who can tolerate [all of] the gory details of the hunt, see the head-on pic, titled Fifteen hours later . . . My intent is not to brag, but to share the thrills and good fortune with which I am blessed. Hopefully, between the lines (and IN them too!) this comes through! I sure hope most of the readers enjoy these hunting rants - I'd sure like to hear about YOURS! RG
PS - Mike Bigelow was kind enough to help me retrieve this deer - THANK You, Mike! He guessed that the antlers would gross about 160. I judged them at 155 , "if I'm lucky" (In our vicinity, still a WHOPPER 8-point). Once again, Mike proved correct: yesterday, my son and I measured them @ a conservative total of 161&3/8Ths inches, including the 20&6/8Ths inside spread and main beam lengths of 24 and 24& 7/8Ths. (Note: we're not official scorers)
