SS BRUIN . . .

No EXIF data is available

Here's a pic of yours truly aboard the USS BRUIN - so named [by Joe] because of the, "miles of anchor chain" used to secure the quad in the pick-up box! ;) According to Joe, every "launching" of the SS BRUIN is an adventure  to behold ! ;) I can't get any respect . . . Note that the exposure eliminated the "GLOW" from the "hunter orange" cap! :) More difficult to observe: in order to keep it on my noggin, this modern "yuppie" cap required the judicious use of the ol' reliable buck folding hunter - an expertly made incision (3/4Ths) around the circumference of the dome accommodated keeping the cap secured during the nominal 25+ MPH daily breeze! ;) Views [of the cap] which will appeal to Stan will be forthcoming ! ;) RG

P.S. if the rifles are not kept TIGHTLY cased, the prairie dust will rapidly encrust them! :( This is something the coyotes seem aware of! ;)

Great photo, Randy. When I first saw the photo, it reminded me of a warrior astride his steed....like the Greek hero Bellerophon, who tamed and rode the mythical horse Pegasus. In the end, Pegasus went to Mount Olympus bringing thunder and lightning to Zeus.

See? It all fits: You The Warrior, atop a modern day Pegasus, bringing Thunder and Lightning (in the form of the 257 Idiot Mag) to Mt. Olympus...which in this case is represented by the vast prairie.

AL, Have you been smokin' thread-leaf sedge? :)

Seriously, Thank you for the photo praise - it was Joe's idea to get this pic - and he snapped it . . . of course, after I told him what to do! ;) I'm surprised that, so far, no one has jumped me (where's Bill Spivens?) for the unsecured rope or, the trusty ol' Peltor rear sand-bag (thirty years and counting)! Or, some of the other "clues" . . .

Being a broken-down duffer, it was also Joe's idea (and a GOOD one) to back the SS BRUIN up against the bank, where conveniently, the cattle have worn the trail  6" deep! That action accommodated simply dragging BIG MIKE's buck a wee bit up-hill, then, rolling him onto the rear rack of the SS BRUIN! Once again, lazyness proved to be the mother of invention! ;)

For now, I'm content to reside somewhere East of Olympus, along with my long lost brother, BIG MIKE, whom I have learned to accept - and he  . . . well, me! ;)RG
