Hopefully, this note accompanies a pic of Joe and his 2007 Prong Horn - he shot this one specifically to teach me a lesson: "tall horns don't measure-up." But this goat had nice "cutters" (prongs), set well up the horn and nice mass. I guessed him at 14.5", while Joe's estimate was , "14 if we're lucky"! It turned out that the horns measured 14&5/8Ths and 14&2/8Ths, while the bases were just a wisker over 6&4/8Ths" in circumference - slightly better than Joe's prediction - and Joe is a very good at judging antelope horns. The lesson was well taken - I looked about for a lot of "hook" plus CUTTERS . . . but I'd opt for an inch cutter over an inch of total length . . . details of the hunt to follow. The 257IdiotMag and the new 25 cal. BIB 110s proved worth the effort! ;) RG
Thanks Randy for putting up Joes' Pronghorn Pic. Sounds like you two had a great time and have stories and pics to show and tell. I am very interested in how the .257 Idiot mag. fared with the 110's.
