A much younger version of the duffer now using this skin! The rifle was my first .257 Ackley Improved (Roberts), topped off with a Leupold M-8, 6X scope, which sits atop my current (SGR smithed/Nyhus Stocked) .257 Ackley ! ;) The bullet was a 120 Gr. SPEER "HOT CORE", driven by a case-full of H-4831. The shot was made from the opposite side of the canyon, which tails into the background, to my left (to the right as viewed) - the distance was about 370 Yd. The buck dropped as if struck by Thor's Hammer - the 120 Gr. HOT CORE passed through ! :) At that time, this was my second best "do-it-yourself" mule-deer; I was pretty proud of him . .. and, in retrospect, I still am ! :) RG
