Paul, what barrel/twist did you go with? Which powders are delivering the goods and at what MV area? Thank you for giving the FB bullets a chance. RG

Randy and George thank you for the comments, I don't know how long they've been up, I just noticed them.

George, I designed this round a number of years ago, long before the Lapua 6.5x47 was around.  It is a shortened .308 and my brass has reduced rim for PPC bolt.

Randy,  I use the 10 twist Rock creek for this round.  and with V V 550.  I tried h 4831, h 4350, imr 4831 and imr 4350, But the VV 550 dominated.  I also tried Lapua 6mm 90 grain Scenars, but the FB 95 BIB dominated.  The load I am at is 37.0 grains 550 and in a 30 in barrel I get 3230 fps 9 feet from muzzle.  Very good accuracy and 29 out of 30 x's last time I did a F-class practice at 600.  WOW

George, I should rephrase that... I am using Remington UBR brass.  .308 length to begin with, but small primer.  I had the late great Ray Wild chuck up a collet in his Lathe, and turn all the rims for me.  I also use a Skip Otto shoulder set back die (he doesn't make those anymore) to move the shoulder to where I wanted it to fire form.  I started this project in 1998.  I got 200 peices of brass from huntington die in CA then.
