Edit

There seems to be a large preference for the Dot reticle at the matches that I attend.  Before I started shooting HBR, I checked out both and decided that I was better off with the dot.  I feel that faster target acquisition as well as ability to hold off is better with the Dot.  I use the Dot to eclipse the white of the target, and judging holdoff by the amount of white showing on each side of hte Dot.  With the 6x scopes, holding off is the hard part.  I've found it pretty easy to consistently shoot good groups in a chosen condition while holding in the center with a 6x scope Dot reticle.

I've only used Burris HBR II scopes thus far, but with the 1/5" clicks.  I like them a lot, they are repeatable, solid, and clear.  With one of mine, I can't get the parallax out at 300 yards, just run out of adjustment.  I am sending that one back to get the parallax adjusted, but certainly want that scope back on my gun this year.  I shot that scope all year, and it has been solid.  Even with the Parallax, I won the 200/300 yard nationals.  Fellow competitor, and shooter of the year Ken Livengood told me to save my components at that particular shoot, as I had him check my Parallax situation at 300 yards.  I managed to deal with it through the match, but it took a lot more time to get the shot off.
