I start off pushing the shoulders back. Then with an adjustable reamer set up, I take a small amount out. Just enough to make neck turning easier. Then I outside turn to final thickness.
I was thinking... I should take more out of the inside, so I don't have to cut into the shoulder to prevent donuts. If a little is good..... why not take most of the thickness out of the inside instead of on the outside. Lets say... bore/ream to .310" Then all it takes is a little touch up on the outside and your done.
Let us hear how the experts do it. Any thoughts, Santa's Helper?
