Edit

The BAT actions I've seen and handled all look first rate.

Probably the only thing I could say is that they weigh more than the Kodiak and Rattler actions. With  a 23-24 oz. stock, the 7.5 inch 36 oz. multi flat BAT's like the one pictured won't let you use the entire shank length of a HBR contour barrel profile, so you end up with a small muzzle diameter than with a 31-32 oz. action unless you want to lightly flute a full profile HBR barrel to drop 6-8 oz. Now, whether the smaller muzzle diameter is a big deal or not, I don't know. I've had my buttt beat hard by all sorts of barrels...small, big, fluted, you name it! ;)

The Leupold M8 series Tactical pictured on the gun is less than 11.5 oz...HBR scopes don't get much lighter than that.

Beautiful rifle, Mike...looks like maybe a 'Speedy Gonzales' built gun?      -Al
