I've been shooting a Rattler HBR gun for over a year now and really like it. I can't compare the Rattler directly to the Kodiak, but I do have a Panda. Al is correct, I don't really prefer to have the recoil lug separate from the action, but since it comes ready to be pinned to the action it hasn't presented any issues. My smith pinned the recoil lug on mine and I've had different barrels on and off without issue. The things that I like about the action: 1) It is very smooth to operate, the bolt coating or whatever makes it very smooth. 2) The annodize finish is amazingly tough, and I like the un-polished look. 3) The Stiller rings that come with his action are very good, and don't cost extra - and the trigger guard is included free also. 4) It has made for a very competitive gun for me, I just like this gun. See the picture below of my gun.
My first HBR gun had an ejector on it, and I removed it. I find that it is easy enough for me to remove the spent case while I'm loading the new one. I don't have ejectors on any of my guns, so I probably would have to change my loading routine if I had one on my HBR gun. If I build another HBR gun, and I hope that I do this year some time, it will be on a Rattler action as well.
