I saw two class acts today. I hate to mention the first cause I know his head will get very large. I got to watch Ron Baldner in action as "grampa"....... Smiling, grinning, laughing, encouraging Drew every chance he got. Just about sickening when you think about it. I have to hand it to Drew, He brings out qualities in Grumpy, frowny, intense, growly ol Ron that are totally new and enjoyable.
The second class act was Drew.........Excellent manners, able to stand up on his hind legs and talk, intelligent and well spoken. I can really see why Ron enjoys his as a hunting partner. Honor to meet and to shoot with. Hard as I tried guys, I could not rattle him.....And those that know me have to admit I have pissed off the best. Drew just grinned, smiled, looked me in the eye and said "Grampa told me all about you" and then shot his match.....Oh yes, his shooting was something to watch!!!!!!!!!!!. Grampa gave him a 22 ppc that makes a hole the size of a sewing needle and guess who shot a 250 18X????? Guess who shot a 50 and 5X while doing it??? Point and pull and practice patience, take the shot you want and not the one thats easy. A real professional performance by a very remarkable young man. I am here to tell you that when Drew and Carey Swickard both show up to shoot at the Beaver Pond there will be some old farts ducking and making excuses....Drew has already notified "Grampa" he wants a hunter class rifle....Grampa brought a first class shooter and a first class man in the making to the Beaver Pond today. The Pond is a better place for it.

PS. I wonder if Ron noticed the performance comparison between the 30BR and the 308 Obermeyer??? We were having so much fun with Drew we forgot to jab each other.......
