"If Tony Boyer, Henry Rivers or Joe Entrikin(sp)are at a match I WILL compete with them and WILL NOT ask to be put in a class where I don't have to compete with the best of the best. If my equipment is lacking then I shouldn't be dissapointed with a less than winning effort. Get the right stuff for the job!!"
Shelly, if you would ask the two score shooters that you mention, I'm sure that they would explain that you are making an assumption when you refer to the person who proposed this change as someone who isn't competitive. We might all be better served next time that you feel the urge to make such inferences if you would consult someone who has the facts. Another approach may be to look at match results, check the record book, or check precision rifleman points.
You mention equipment performance several times. Bullet hole diameter does not qualify as performance, by any definition. Since we shoot a scored target, the rest is self explanitory.
Oh, yes, by the way, I do shoot a 30, and it is competitive. You can check, unless you are still comfortable to assume.
