As usual, the crows began arriving just at sunset  - one particularly racus rascal (a most reliable spy) reported that , though not yet "Official", Dave Greene, of Lenexa, KS, while competing at the IBS registered Iowa State Score Championships (hosted by Boone Vallet Ikes, Webster City, IA, Aug. 2003) appears to have eclipsed the IBS TWO Gun Score Record , which was established at the same venue, by Dale Fritts, during the May, 2003 Two Gun event. Dale's recently Officially recognized 998-44X replaced Mike Bigelow's 997- 50something, which was shot at Holmen, Wisconsin during the 2002 season. Dale used the combination of a thirty caliber (Hunter rifle) and a 6PPC (VfS) to lay claim to his impressive, but short lived record.

Dave Greene's targets appear to have been officially scored as 998-45X! Congratulations, Dave! Of course, yours truly is free to gloat; Mr. Greene used a .30x44 (HBR) and a .30BR (VfS) combination to claim the Record !  Dave shot 10 ogive 125 Gr. bullets during both stages of the event. Notably, Dave posted the sole 500 score during the VfS portion of the tournament . . . not bad for 10.5 pound rifle (YES, it's a LIGHT varmint!) and a cartridge which "won't shoot", piloted by a guy from KANSAS ! ;)

HMMmmmmm, do we give ANY credit to Dave Greene . . . . let's see, he won at Holmen, he won the Kansas State TWO GUN (group) Championship . . .and the Nebraska . . . .naw, it was all just luck and a couple o' [HOT]1:18" twist PacNor barrels! ;)

Dave will surely forgive me - BIG MIKE took over the operation . . an' I  gotta type  what he dictates! ;)

Keep 'em ON the X!  R.G.
