Randy,
No, it was not me at Raton. I am the one who keeps George from his paying customers by having him frequently re-attach my bolt handle.
It was known up here that the BAT gun was a good shooter. For some reason he did not shoot it much, but when he did the results were usually very good. I find it interesting that you did so well shooting your 136s in a 30x44. Last season I shot a 30x44 throated for 1.080 bullets--because I had a lot of them. In May I tied the 100yd range record in Wenatchee with a 250-20x shooting the BIB 134s in my 30x44. Shortly after that I ran out of 134s and I was going to order more, but I had some people tell me that the 1.080 bullet is too big for the 30x44 and that the biggest bullet I should use was a 125. So I bought some 125s and I never could get them to shoot as well as the 134s. I spent all summer trying to get the 125s to shoot--without success--until I read your post about more neck tension. So, I dug up a neck bushing .004 smaller than a loaded case neck and everything has changed for the good!
I learned a couple of things from that experience.
