Edit

Thanks Randy for taking the time to answer this. I appreciate your interest in doing so.

I am still left with the thoughts of the unburned powder-lack of efficiency in the longer cased 30's that has been pointed out by our gunsmith and i am still thinking that it may be possible to contain some of that extra powder burn inside a fatter case with the propper shaped shoulder. I remember seeing an article in PS a year or two ago about the Turbulence point and the importance of containing it inside the case. The issue of bolt thrust I have seen discussed and seen happen adversely to my 30 BR cases. they have grown as I have shot them. I guess, somehow, the Magnum cases survive it though.

Thinking about this stuff and discussing it is interesting all the same, even if I know nothing about it .

Thanks again, Pete
