Dave, As I have discussed with you in the past I think it should be tied to how many shooters you beat, I think it is a given that it is harder to beat 50 shooters than 10 at a club shoot. I think points should be awarded for the number of shooters that you beat, for example if you have 50 shooters the winner gets 49 pts. last man gets 0.The winner of the SSOY title should have beat the best and most competitors for the title to be deserved, It shouldn't be won by someone beating the same 8-10 people 20 times in a season. That being said, I don't have a problem with the proposals that have been presented as long as everyone is playing by the same rules, Shooter of the year has always been about chasing points, you must be willing to travel to big matches and be able to win against this level of competition. Smoking Joe and Humble Henry are perfect examples of this, they certainly don't live in the heart of score shooting country but they set their goals on winning the title and thru dedication and sacrafice of time and money for travel plus some great shooting they achieved their goals, as it should be for a national title. You know how much time and dedication is required to pursue this title thru yours and Deans pursuit this past year. Joe, Henry and Dean earned the title by whipping all comers pretty much all year in their respective years as it should be. I would like to thank you and the others involved in working on this for your time and efforts. Steve
