I've been using Scot's Farley style rest for about a year now. I think I got his second non-prototype rest. I'm very satisfied with it. You can get an aluminum or steel base. Mine is steel which is pretty heavy.

Scot talked to Farley , before building these and Farley said it'd be OK if Scot builds and sells some of them.

Not being a lefty I don't know if they are convertable. Maybe if I get time I'll get it out of the car and look at it. I'm in Fort Lauderdale doing the insurance gig for the first landfall from Katrina. We plan on moving as close to New Orleans as possible sometime late next week. My BR shooting will be sparse over the next year or so but maybe I can salt away enough cash to retire in style and then I can shoot without these pesky hurricanes getting in my way all the time.
