Edit

Fergus, I think the McMillan Sako Varmint profile has to be the best of both worlds. I have one on my SGR built 6BR and love it. The forearm is nice and flat, but the sides round over just a bit so you can actually get your hands around it comfortably. It has a nice palm swell and checkering on the grip area and the forearm, as well. From the bags, it handles really well and has no cheekpiece to interfere with the stock sliding in the rear bag. They are an exact duplicate of the factory Sako Varmint stock, if you've ever handled one of them.

Stan has used quite a few of these over the past couple of years, so maybe he'll give his ideas. Hope Carleton has several of them from Stan's shop, so maybe he'll chime in as well. I have 2 more coming for my Canadian pal Pat Cameron who will be inlettting them for a couple of Swindlehurst actions he has.

Mine is 70% white with 30% grey marbled swirls for Winter camo..looks great. I just got a new digital camera, so as soon as I can figure out how to use the thingy (what's this button here for????) I'll see if I can post a picture of mine.   -Al
