Al, I (somewhat) survived the debacle at the "short" 200 (BIG MIKE may well have "filled in" for the last time!
) and managed a respectable finish at all of the other yrdages/Grands . . . Greg Sweezey was the recipient of a MOST brutal and unobserved/unreported cross-fire during the three hundred yard stage! :( This is a REAL problem which we need to address via a rule change - when the mirage is too bad for the competitors to see bullet holes (in the solid rings), how can we be expected to REPORT cross-fires which we cannot possibly see?!!!?? - This monkey needs to be placed on the shoulders of the target detail - at least at three hundred yards! Other than occasionally obscuring bullet holes, the mirage was very "usable" as a "wind flag" throughout the four days . . .
While Greg got SCREWED by one of his peers, I got the "Golden Flece" . . but that is another story! Despite "help", Greg still made the TOP FIVE - a tribute to determination!
Wayne Corely was the BIG DOG, I believe, winning the 300; 200/300 100/200/300 and the 1/200/200/300 Aggs!! Brian Miller and Craig Nagel shot respectably throughout . . other than these, my memory is not being very cooperative - I may have even gotten Wayne's details a little out of whack . . . BUT, Wayne shot very well all four days and nabbed a well deserved TOP GUN title! ;) It's good to see one on your heros knuckle down - it provides hope!
Keep 'em ON the X! R.G.
P.S. As pointed out by Craig Nagel, Dave Reeder was the three hundred Yd. Champion - shame on me for forgetting his clinic on 300 Yd. shooting! Dave dropped a mere three points on a tough day! R.G.
