Hey, Al, keep an eye on yer mail box - I actually remembered t' send the stuff ya requested in our last exchange!
But more on topic: I did forget to mention that I will be installing and shooting several new barrels on the existing BR rigs for next season. Despite the 'killer' barrel which was on the BAT which I purchased in August, I will be fitting and chambering either a K&B 1:17 , a Lilja 1:17 and a PacNor 1:18 B4 the 2004 season gets underway - the Lilja 1:15 which is now on the BAT HBR rig is throated so long that, if I want to use ten ogive versions, I must use 1.150" jacketd bullets. This is not ALL bad, as the rifle shot well enough with the 136's to win the first Grang Agg in which it was piloted by your truly - now THERE is a handicap on the ol' equipment!
But I have to decide whether to put which barrel on which rig, or, if they'll go on the other: two will go on HBR rifles and one on the HV . . guess I'll just have to flip a coin! But each one will go on a proven platform - THAT much I believe is imporatnt when trying to get a picture . . . but even then, a sample of one is a statistically challenged platform. However, I am expecting good things from all of these barrels; samples of all three, on a variety of rifles, performed very well in BR tournaments throughout the 2003 season.
The K&B ( Kostyshyn&Barwick Precision Barrels, Inc.) barrel, delivered at the IBS Nats., is very well executed . . . I'm leaning on putting it on the LV, as Craig Kostyshyn made it to my request: a Hunter taper, but with a 5" long shank - that way, I have plenty of options regarding length/weight. . . . it may require a bull-session or two under the influence of black juice to tip me one way or the other! ;)
Oh, today, I scored another stash (200+) of the .308 BR Remington brass, so, the ol' 30x47HBR reamer should get me all the way through GEEZERDOM and beyond! AND, when I ain't got nothin' t'do, I can count the stuff over 'n over agin! ;)
Been hopin' to for some insight from the head Beaver, but he must be up t' his tail in pond froth er somthin' . . .
