Edit

Hi Al & all;

  First, On 2 consecutive Sunday's my 13 year old Grand Son and I went deer hunting. His name is Drew and he did good. Because of his age, he could take a doe and a good one he got on the first Sunday. The following Sunday I got a nice buck and he was there to assist. Good adventures.

  As for the new guns for this coming season, I have already begun. I built a 6mm HTG which is a 6/284 shortened .080". The neck is left long and the reamer uses a 1 degree lead(hope I described that right) so that it works really well with 107gr Sierras. Used a 8 twist Lilja HV taper barrel and it does work. It only took 4 shots of shoot one and clean to move on to 3 shot groups. After ten shots I switched to Moly coated bullets. My last 5 shot group went into slightly less than .250" This started out to be a windy weather long range Rockchuck rifle for next spring but I may drop it into a BR stock and try it at 1000k as I plan to try that a bit next year.

  I am also going to build a 30BR for VFS. I have the barrel, a 6 ppc Panda that is going to be rebarreled, dies and brass but don't want to use up all my Winter projects before Winter even gets here.

  I also have a 17 twist Lilja HBR barrel for my Hunter gun. The old one has 3500 rounds through it. It still shoots great. The last match it helped me get a 250-21X and Larry will hurt me if I touch that gun so sometime this Winter I will chamber the new barrel and break it in. Then set it aside. The old reliable one gets to play till it dies.

  You kids play nice. I enjoy reading all of the Posts here and it is the first site I tune in to every day.
