For someone who "has not messed a lot with light guns" you have said volumes about how a rifle should handle, light or otherwise! In my brief history of rifle shooting I have had some rifles that just "hang" on target (that are easy to shoot accurately)  and some that will not "settle out in field position proving tough to handle well......guess there is more to balance and fit than just putt'in barrels,actions and stocks together! .........Thanks
