Ah, Yes...a light rifle sure is nice on a hard hunt and the "hunted" would never know if it were hit by a 1 moa or .25 moa rifle but Randy there has to be some "middle ground" between your hunt'in buddy's 7.5 pound rifle and your 12.25 lb!
Stan restocked a Sako L-46 last year for me that served very well on several predator hunts. It is a pleasure to pack the 7.5 pound rifle and at the end of the day my shoulder did not suffer from a "sling groove" but with those virtues being said there is a drawback......the big difference being in the way the X-hairs settle on a target when compared rifles that weigh a couple of pounds more!
