will NEVER know the difference! ;) Once upon a time, yours truly believed that a HEAVY rifle was the only way to assure a precision rifle - "dufferdom" seems to be modifying this belief!

It seems that under very similar circumstances (distance/angle/shot placement), Joe's 7.5 LB rifle (a .300 Short Rem. Mag/150 Gr. Power-Loct - the new bonded core version) managed to throttle a deer just as quickly as a 132 Gr. BIB (10 ogive version) launched by the .300WSM chambering - this DESPITE my rifle outweighing Joe's by a WHOPPING 4 Lb. & 12 Ounces!! Where's the "fairness" in THAT?

So, next year, I'll be toting a whimpy rifle too - all I expect is something under MOA . . . yes, I'll admit that even THAT is over kill, but with contemporary stuff and gunsmithing, under .75 is easily doable; especially when ya only need it to shoot one shot where it's intended to land . . .and three shot groups will reliably establish THATcapability . . toting Joe's SAKO 17 Rem. around for four days hastened my dufferdom to near codgerdom - I gotta have a LIGHT rifle. But which one ???
