So, don't run off . . there's room for talkin' about all sorts of "accuracy" related stuff - including the occasonal oxymoron (i.e. accurate Ruger #1) ! ;) Mr. Ware even has me considering a customized #1 . . but , I gotta admit, the weight issue has me bugged - AND balking - that 6/284 we all fondled a little over a week ago was HEAVY . . . HMMMmmmmm . . . now, Al's 250 Ackley - THAT was LIGHT!!!
Once I get some pics back, I may post a brief (Stans' orders) summary of our latest Wyoming mule deer adventure (Truly a "ME an' JOE" story!) . . . I can attest that a mature mule deer cannot distinguish between a bullet fired from a "minute of deer" rifle and a rig which delivered a 0.105" three shot group (100 Yd.) during sighting in; both delivered equally administered doses of terminal lead poisoning . . . managed to bag another "management" buck - an old feller with very respectable, but less than spectacular antlers . . . but that's another story.
We invested the last two days playin' cowboy - rounded up 328 head of cows and calves, then sorted and vaccinated calves the first day. Then sorted cows (by brand/age/breed/etc.) the last day - a GREAT end to a GREAT vacation . . none of them cowboys gave a rats posterior fer a benchrest rifle or a custom bullet! ;) Made it home in ONE piece - averaged 71.1 MPH on the return trip! May have established a world record for elapsed time from Rapid to the MN border . . then we had to back 'er down a trifle!
Keep 'em ON the X! R.G.
