I will agree, about throw away guns. The model 700 youth was my 1st choice because of the availability for used stocks, take off barrels and after market products. I have M700 stocks for when he grows. Different calibers & cartrages are not a problem as M700 are rebuildable, and with REO just up the road. The model 7, for these reasons, fail. Unless I can buy one at a great price. I think 243,257,260
7mm-08,7x57, 270, 308 ect. are all fine calibers. As far as 243? My choice was made for several reasons. Mild recoil (Rocky is a toothpick). I have brass and dies. Hunting season isn't to far away, so practice time is limited.
The 700 MR, Dan has sounds very interesting!!! ??$$$
Dan, I have a $285 Blackstar 6mm 14 twist that you should own. You interested?
