that way, I can invest more time in looking for a BIG Mule Deer! ;) . WE may decide to get a goat tag next year though. . .
This goat was hanging out in a relatively small pasture - only about 5,000 acres - and after looking at a fair number of goats, he was just about the best we could find . . for me, unless really BIG, antelope are extremely DIFFICULT to judge. This one was shot at well over three hundred yards, using the IDIOT MAG and a 130 Gr. Barnes X @ a little over 3300 FPS! The angle was a steep [quartering toward US ] and the goat RAN toward us about 40 -50 YD. before hitting the deck; the bullet entered at the point of the on-side shoulder and exited between the last two ribs . . .
