Hello all, certainly had a wonderful time at the nationals at the Beaver Pond. We were so happy to have everyone here. We are all looking forward to the trip in 2004 and we know the friendship, fun, and good shooting will be there also.
I shot the 17twist and had a chance to visit with Randy a bit about it. Why it works as it does we just do not know. Do not judge the performance of the rifle by my standing at the nationals. The barrel produced a tremendous 34X for the 4 days of shooting. The same conditions that ate Randy and others is the cause of my finish. 34% X shots when two yardages almost produced none gives an indication to what the barrel was trying to produce.
Randy let me know he was working on a new bullet for 2004. He has figured out a way to mix Viagra in with the lead core of his 10 ogive bullets. On paper he says it will increase bullet diameter by at least 3 calibers after erect...........oops, ignition. He indicated he was having a bit of a problem with timing though. He indicated he has several barrels with a "dog knot" between chamber and muzzle and even some that apparently experienced multiple orga.........erect.......growth situations before leaving the muzzle as they have developed a whole series of bulges. I am confident though that with Randy's perseverence, his ability to stroke and coax results from the smallest of things, that he will overcome all challenges with the new project. The one that is giving him the most fits though is the premature ejac.........oops. ignition situation. He indicates they have a tendency to go off at the most embarasing times. Has Randy shared any of this technology with anyone out there other than Jeff Jetter??? HMMMMMMMMM. Be well .........Larry Cribbs
