In light of the closest HBR range being a +7 hour drive from my house and owning 4 HBR rigs, and since I found another competitive game only 96 miles away (1000 yd, actually, this club also has 1100 and 1200 competitions too and for a the really adventure, you can do the Mile shot too here) I converted one of my HBR's into an F-Class rig for this game. A R700, 1-12 Hart, full 308, .335 neck, added Burris Signature live-center rings and used a +5 and the rear sight and -20 at the front sight, topped off with a T16, she prints 2.5" high at 300 yds (scope bottomed out, with 60 Moa up from there) and she can now reach out without a hold over to 1300 yds. I plan on taking two rigs out (like clubs for golf) fir hunting this year, one HBR short range rig (100-300), and this long range rig for the long shot, and up here in Saskatchewan, you can get that long shot! Flattest place on earth (the whole province is really quite flat, overall) I think, and the wind never stops blowing. At 900 yds the other day, with a light 12 mph NW wind, I had to add 14.5 Moa left to get into the V bull. The wind has a BIG effect at these ranges. In the short game (HBR) I don't think I ever put more than 3 MOA on. A friend at work took a 6x6 elk last week, showed me pics, now I'm dying to go out and tap something too. Looking forward to it. I figure some deer and antelope are in order this year, baring CWD, which there is lots of around Swift Current. We will either go into this zone (buy one antlered tag, get two free doe tags, fill the doe tags and return the heads for testing and you get two more doe tags) or a little south, into the Frenchman river area, were the ants are like flys. Good hunting to ya' all, EH
