Randy,

Your "post" stirs a lot of memories!...Yes, Randy those Hope Carleton Jr's are one in the same! Those "American Conference News" date back to when I "was eat up" (as my wife puts it!) with rifle shooting. It was also when I was introduced to what precision shooting was all about...I shot with some good friends there at "Bluegrass" for several years competing in "BR 50" , "BR" and "HBR"...met my first precision riflesmith, Waldo Tarter, and built a friendship as well as having a few good rifles built!....I learned a lot from those folk and sure do miss some of them!

My wife (and greatest hunting partner of 23 years!)and I got involved with tournament archery (of the "3D" type) and my competition rifles went to the "back" of the safe (which in my opinion is a lot better than "sold"!) and we "lived and breathed" archery and bowhunting (still do!)

Back a couple of years ago I decided to build a .17 Remington to be used for one of my many "vices"..coyote calling.......After some reseach I decided to have Stan Ware perform the work for me...again I feel I can say that a friendship was built as well as a "Super" shooting .17...through Stan I met the "Nyhus Gang" Todd and Al (again "GOOD" folk) and was introduced  to the old WareWolf site where we exchanged hunting tales and I met and read the thoughts about precision rifle shooting from some very knowledgable people (yourself in that company!) and altough I don't "post" often, I am always "lurking".....waiting for later this fall when I can share some hunting experiences with y'all!

Thanks R.G. and take care.....

Hope (one in the same!)
