The barrel had at least 800 rounds through it before I shot a decent score. Since then, 100 yard has produced 250's with 13 to 17 X's. The 200 scores are over my average and my 300 yard scores are at least 3 points better than I have ever done. I am probably the only one using a full 308 case so my "solution" may be different but what is working now is the 134 BIB, 46.??? grains of N140 resulting in a velocity of about 3050fps. I tried some 132's after the match today an 1" was the group at 100 yards. I tried some 112gr today also and about 1" was the best for 3 groups. I then shoved in some 134gr and shot a .200", a .150" and a .210" in the same conditions. I do not know why, does not make sense to me and the very combination I am now shooting would only produce ugly clusters till the barrel had about 800 rounds through it.
I have put together 8 or 9 rifles with the EDGE stock. Every one out here that I come it contact with just loves the way they ride the bags and feel while shooting. I understand that there are folks that want to make an issue of the way the EDGE fits the front rest. I get reports that at Nationals they will be making folks change bags or tensions if the rifle can not be lifted straight out of the bag without rotating. I suppose if it makes them happy they can do anything they want but the way the stock rides and handles I have found that they handle perfectly even with no front bag tension. I thought the rifle simply had to lift out of the bag without lifting the rest off the bench but I am wrong again I guess. Oh well, when all else fails, screw with the rules I suppose.
Let us know what finally makes your 17 shoot, I suspect it will be interesting and rewarding to find out. Be well, Larry Cribbs
