Hi Randy, today is a really great day for you, Big Mike has been kind to you all day, I cleaned off the back porch this morning before going to the shoot and found a package of BIB something or others hid under a bucket by the UPS man (about 2 weeks ago), your bullets held the first 6 places at out shoot today, and now we all know you can chamber a rifle. I am very glad you started using a lathe and reamer instead of trying to hammer forge the barrel around your reamer. The tapered punch you used to remove the grooves worked well but sure did mess up the headspace.
The 17 twist Lilja just finished its brick of 5000 primers. Second at 100 with a 250 13x (I think) and first at 200 with a 246 7X (I think). I was also 1st in the agg. It was not an easy day to shoot, very switchy winds, rain, hail, sunshine and more wind. The Beaver pond was not a pretty place today. I will get the score sheets out of the rig when it quits raining and hailing so hard. Very interesting day.
I am going to pull the 17 twist off, set it and the brass aside and put on a new 15 twist. I hate to take it off when its working so well but my luck would have it dying 2 weeks before nationals. This way I have it if I need it. I read Steve's post with interest. You have to compete at Wenatchee to appreciate what he is saying.....
Be well everyone and Randy, please remember the only proper way to chamber and headspace is from the muzzle end with a pull reamer. You just have to remember to reverse the barrel rotation as you are working from the other end.
