I too shoot the Hunter guns better than I have the VFS guns. I have both won more and seemed to score better in comparison. I find it an advantage to be able to see all the flags in the scope and I think my binocular vision is not good so I miss flag changes with the High powered scope. I have placed three times @ VFS but never won an event in two years of trying.
My thinking was that I might be able to translate that to VFS but I guess it is a lot to ask and /or hope for. I , like Jim , always try to shoot when I can hold dead on the target . I have scored well holding off but I don't like doing it and try never to hold out of what I preceive as being the ten ring. That usually means "Picking".
Same for VFS; I bought an action with a Micro port , thinking I could shoot it faster. we'll see this year but I often tend to be quite tenative when it comes to shooting . With ten minutes, usually I can find 5 good conditions in the first five minutes so I don't like risking a lost point.
I think I have finally found a GREAT BARREL too so that is , no doubt a help. My VFS rifle was frought with problems that came to light SLOWLY so it was a struggle , any way one looks at it. The learning curve is a pretty big one and Ignorance is a difficult situation to deal with. I think it might be nice to have access to a good Gun Tuner in the early part of one's career so little problems like Reamer errors and Seating depth importance , etc, etc. wouldn't take a year or more to learn. It is not only expensive but one wears out equipment unnecessarily.
