I've also grown quite fond of the 6x scope shooting. For 100 yards, i'm not sure if i'm giving up anything in terms of scoring potential. Getting used to the hold-off took a little time, but being able to see the flags seems more important to me. I've shot better since switching to the 6x scopes, haven't shot the VFS class at all last year.
if you peruse some of the match reports where HBR and VH and VFS classes were all contested, you'll often find a 6x scoped competitor with a score nearly equalling the winning VFS score - considering that there is usually about 1/3 of the competitors using 6x scopes.....
Last match as one example, VFS class was won with 250-20x. Hunter class was won by 250-19x. This was no fluke, and has been demonstrated time and time again at 100 yards. At 200 and 300 yards, the VFS guys seem to show advantage. Al Nyhus had high X count of all classes last year at the 200 yard leg of the 100/200 yard IBS nationals - with a 6x scope.
