from shooting next to you at the nationals, your set-up was just fine. i've watched you shoot for a couple of years now at the big matches and you seem to have a handle on things quite well. My experience has shown a preference for the H4198, but my comfort level with that powder is much better than wiht hte n130 at this point. I tried n130, wanted to make it work. It worked very well for me a few times out, but when it was cold I couldn't keep 'em tight. Then I got settled in with the H4198 and decided to leave everything alone and concentrate on the flags. I didn't worry about the load all season, pre-loaded at my bench at home and at the range in between yardages at the big matches - didn't seem to matter. I'm shooting the slower node, not going over 3,000 fps like some.
This year, I'm shooting a bigger HBR case and set up the chronograph the night before the first match - with a can of n133. Shot at velocities up to 3180 fps, but the gun wants to shoot at 2960 - 2980 fps. Loaded it up, took it to the match and it shoots very well. I've got the Remington 722 coming in about a week chambered for the same 30x46 and hope to shoot it soon as well. I'm going to experiment with some Hogdgon EXTREME powder in hopes of achieving the consistency of the 4198 that i appreciate in the 30BR. I've got a slow lot of h322, hopefully it will work well for me.
