Ken, I've only used the 1.00 and 1.080's in my WareWolf (47.9 avg. capacity case) but have seen pretty much what you describe. The 1.080 125's liked 2,850 but I could reach 2,950 and ran it there. The 1:17 barrels were easier to do this with than the 1:15's I started with. When I switched to the 1.00'ers and had Stan change the freebore length, 2,950 was a bit easier to reach. Using N135 and going up from my 2,950 load, I can't quite get all the vertical out before I run out of case capacity. I may try some faster powder this year, as the new N133 is supposed to be a bit slower than the previous stuff.
With the 1.08's in a 1:15 Lilja 3 groove I used 748 and Benchmark. The Benchmark showed great accuracy but thrashed the bejeezus out of the cases, so I went to the N135.
Are you guys using mostly the .925's and 1.00's in the Aardvarks?
A year or so back, Stan and I worked with a case we call the .30 BeWare that will push the 1.080's to 3,400 with very moderate pressures. There will be an article in the June issue of P.S. about it.
Regarding the 30BR, I'm just starting to tinker with one so I don't have much experience with it yet. But, the initial work I have done shows excellent accuracy at 2950-2980 with the 1.00 118-7's. I'll be trying some 1.00 125-10's as soon as I get a better baseline with this combo using a couple of different powders. I know several shooters that run their 30BR's at 3050-3080 with great success..hopefully one or two will offer some thoughts.
