Edit

Bob, I don't know how much you know about the RamPro action deal, so forgive me if I cover old territory. They have ceased production and all of the action building equipment has been retooled to mfg. a 'new' action based on the RamPro design. The people that have the RamPros seem to like them. They used a Belleville spring rather than a coil spring to power the firing pin..at least the original RamPros did.

Have you looked at the new QuadLites from RPA? They are designed to fit a Remington inlet and are 4 lug actions with very nice triggers. Prices are supposed to be competitive.

For me, if I didn't have Stan redo a Remington for a varmint gun, I'd spring for a Kodiak in either single shot or repeater configuration...probably a repeater in case I wanted to use it for a HBR gun in the future.

Here's a picture of the reborn RamPro, now called the Wasatch action. I understand a trigger hanger can also be had...don't know about pricing on the action, though.  -Al
