"Well, Texas competitor, Jackie Schmidt just burned the out-house down, Robin!" ;)
"Holy #^@*&^#&^#@ Batman, what are we gonna do now?" :)
Seriously, a competitor with the right combination of gumption & talent decided to wring the goodies out of the 30 BR, and in so doing, has probably eclipsed a 28 year-old aggregate record (100 Yd.). Let's not get too carried away with the equipment, as Jackie Schmidt, bested the first loser by a whopping 56% or, in other words, Jackie's 100 Yd. Agg. measured 2.279 times SMALLER than the second place finisher - now, THAT's some doping and executing! It will be interesting to see if the NBRSA records committee substantially alters the range measured 0.1118" Agg - a full 20% smaller than the nearly thirty year old, 100 yard record, which stands at 0.1399". Oh, assuming that the targets hold-up to scrutiny (stays below about 0.128), Jackie's effort will, probably, become the smallest Aggregate ever fired during a registered BR event - and that includes the 5-shot rail gun record!
That Jackie accomplished this using a 30 BR chambering is of little surprise to us mere mortals, who, since day one, though limited by our abilities, have, none-the-less, 'known' the potential of the rigs we wielded . . . the 'sign' (pictured below), from Mainville, PA (Y2K IBS Score Nationals) has proudly been on display in my shop for nearly 12 seasons - while vindication is pretty sweet, let's not forget that Jackie delivered this agg in 15-25 MPH conditions; a truly exceptional performance, demonstrating preparation, will, and execution . . . ;)
CONGRATULATIONS, Jackie! :) THE Ballistic Idiot, RG .
