    2010 IBS Score Nationals

As you no doubt know by now, the IBS 100-200 yard Score Nationals will be held August 26, 27, 28,29, 2010 at the Holton, Michigan Rod And Gun Club. What you may not know is that I have begun knocking softly on doors for donations of merchandise to be used as prizes at the Nationals. I like to refer to these donations as inexpensive advertising. To date our items of inexpensive advertising are:
One rifle finish by Hydro-Dip Hydronics
    One Bartlein Rifle Barrel
I will edit this post as the list grows or I will post anew if I can't edit and add..

    Gift Certificate from Kelbly's Inc.

The post office lady melted the snow off the mail box today as she delivered a $250.00 certificate from Dave Manson Reamers. Thank you, Dave Manson

If you are a vendor or manufacturer looking for an inexpensive way to advertise your wares give me an e-mail or phone call and we can add your company's name to our list. The sooner you respond, the higher on the list you will be.

Kerri, the post office lady, stopped at the mailbox and dropped in a Shadetree Engineering & Accuracy barrel tuner. Butch Lambert is the proprietor and floor sweeper at Shadetree Engineering & Accuracy. Get to know him with a phone call for any of his fine products.

I failed to mention in earlier posts that Nancy Scarborough will be at the range and will be installing custom made ear plugs. You must bring your ears to the match as she does these fitting while you wait. For this Nancy has also donated:

Two (2) sets of Nancy Scarborough custom ear plugs. You must be present to win. I'll attempt to have this drawing perhaps on Friday so that the winners will be there and have time to have the plugs made.

Seb posted this morning on "one of those other benchrest sites" that he is indeed donating a NEO Seb front rest to the 2010 IBS 100-200 Score National. I spoke to Seb a while ago and he was trying to get the rest out of prototype stage and into production. He has succeeded and is sending me a front rest. He also stipulated that the rest is to go to the winner of the two gun aggregate. That will be for the winner of the VFS and of the 6 power stage. This means you will have to be the master of two distinctly different rifles. These aren't redundant classes. In this case one rifle can be 13.5 pounds, 3 inch wide fore end, any power scope. The second (or is it the first) rifle can have no higher than 6 power magnification, no wider than 2. 25 fore end, have a cut out for a magazine capable of holding 2 cartridges of the caliber being shot, an action that is no wider than 1.400 inches, no heavier than 10 pounds. Now that's a challenge, wouldn't you say?

I spoke to Bill Scheider last night. He is coming all the way from Beaufort, SC and he is bringing five (5) boxes of .30 caliber 117 grain Fowler Bullets to be used as prizes. Bill and his wife have been swamped with orders for Fowler Bullets. These are great bullets and very much in demand.
