     Randy,

After learning from you that a dismal 308 will never kill a deer I haven't been able to get a good night sleep.  I showed Big Mike my latest venture and he growled something about Lapua stealing his idea and started frothing at the mouth.  I waited a couple of days to make sure he was long gone before posting this picture.  The 338 Big Mike is shown here with a "all it's good for is shooting gophers" 308 for comparison.  At 88 grs a throw, it goes through a pound of powder like Hope chewing on a chicken leg..quick!!

     Hey Tom,

Got that venison maker 45-70 ready for the season??  What load do you use in that Bad Boy?

"it goes through a pound of powder like Hope chewing on a chicken leg..quick!!" Hey!....you have never seen me eat chicken!... but that "visual aid" discription made me think that "338 Big Mike" must be some sort'a big bore "Gatling Gun" ......I like fried chicken!..;>)

"Now THAT'S a freezer filler." Yer right Tom.....jes about two of those cartridges will fill most freezers with not much room for anything else...and you would have to use those "magnum" type primers to set off that 88 grain charge when they get that cold..;>)

The Marlin likes the 300 gr Sierra SJHP on top of 56 gr. of SRB118.  I'm taking the C.Sharps on a bison hunt in a couple of months and it likes 63 grains of 1 1/2 Swiss behind a cast 540 gr. Jones 25-1.  Big Bores are Us.
