Not very good with the picture thing...Finished!

The Action is a Remington 700LH that has been Supertuned by Stan Ware.  Chambered in a 30br, this setup was in a VFS Heavy stock setup and would shoot in the .1's as long as I did my job.  So Far in the Homemade setup it is shooting in the .2's but it's a lot harder to see with that LITTLE 6x scope!

Like I told you last night, though, that front rest needs the same paint treatment. I just know you're a proud pappy. You are to be commended.

Hi Steve.... thanks for posting a great picture. Folks that is a old HS stock with most of the aluminum either machined out or lightened up. He completely changed the front end and gave it a 2 1/4 inch wide front end and then as you can see it tapers to round. The lug is pinned and the action is switched from a 30 BR, to a factory 22/250 and then to a hunting rig as a 260 AI. Its good to see some one starting out with such great talent. Proof that you can shoot this game and go deer hunting and prairie dog hunting with just one rifle.

Thanks for the kind words...its a good thing i've got some yellow paint left over to paint the rest but that might have to weight till this winter.

As Stan said it was my factory HS precision stock that I figured since it was just fiberglass, why not change the shape a little and make it into something I can use all season.  Since Stan had made it a Switch barrel from 22-250, to 30br to 260 AI it only seemed to make sense to marry it with a stock that would be just as versitile.

I also wanted a 2 1/4" stock that I could compete with at Webster City in the Vhtr or Hunter class and about 25hrs later this is the result, still carrys very nice with the 260AI for Deer Season I will just use the camo "cling" tape to protect the finish and dull the colors.

Biggest challange was triming the weight those things have ALOT of aluminum in them and once that was gone i layed up some fiberglass in the barrel channel forward of the recoil lug to stiffen it up a touch.

I'm happy with the way it turned out and it was alot of fun to build.

That yellow gun is a very special piece that was hand delivered from WI by a couple of outstanding gents.   Smithed by Roy Oines and WOW does it shoot!    Its a Panda with a .332 neck 30br 1-17 5r Rock Creek Barrel,  It allready has one confirmed kill at 100yds, a grasshoper made the mistake of

Steve: that Yellow Gun has a great pedigree, as you know. It has won lots of hardware over the years with many different barrels on it in both Group and Score tournaments.

I predict it's winning days will continue.    -Al
