One of the first things you can do after joining is editing your profile. There are many settings, mostly self explanatory. One setting that is on by default that you may want to turn off is the "
Enable Email Notifications of forum/thread subscriptions and replies to my posts." setting.
To accomplish this, go to the upper right corner of the screen just above the search are and click "Edit Profile" In your profile click the "Email" tab and then if you want click no beside "
Enable Email Notifications of forum/thread subscriptions and replies to my posts." The default is to yes, which means that every time you post a message to the forum you will get mailed that you posted and you will also get mailed when people reply to your post.
