Bolt Sleeving

    Bolt Sleeving

    Here we are sleeving a 700 Remington Bolt The receiver has been bored to .705 and printed. The sleeve has been turned to .704 and the bolt handle silver soldered to a seperate sleeve and then glued on the bolt body. We tested the glue job 3 times with a 2 pound hammer (no pun intended here rr :) and in all cases the glue job held. Acutally the silver solder job let loose first and tore out part of the sleeve.       Very nice.  Easy to see why a tuned up action is superior to a factory one.

    Nice job, Stan!

    Sports fans, I have two Rem. actions ( a 722 and a 700) which Stan performed this magic on - sorry, Todd, NO dog-leg replacement handles - aside from the custom actions, these are as good as it gets! :) Thanks for willingly sharing your secrets, Stan! RG
