  • Just about got 'er, Randy

    Randy,

We just about got er tight. we had some trouble with head Space and had to put on our special wrench as you can see. In fact I had to put a cheeter on the wrench to get the correct headspace. Another thing... you know those bushing thingys you sent along with the reamer, well none of them seem to fit.. we tried to pound one down the bore and just give up on that there idea. But we got the bright idea of slitting them lengthwise with a hack saw and now they work great. Anyway we figured if they didn't work ..... you could use them thingys for roll pins and that there way they would not be wasted. The bolt seems to work rather hard in the action now. Did you have that there trouble before ? Well, we think we can fix that there problem by turning the bolt to a smaller diameter. We are down to five sixteents of a inch and the bolt works alot better now, but the firing pin spring shows thru on one side.... but it works ok. One last question. You sent along a reamer thing with sharp edges on it and we stuck it in the chamber and it sure cuts goood. With my borescope I can now see we are nice and smooth for about 12 inches ahead of the bullet. Really looks neet. Where did you get that darn thing?

Well, I best go for now... thought you might want to know everyting comed out OK.

We think this is the current IBS National champion.... we are not sure as the camo is really great and one cannot tell for sure.... anyway the two jackrabbits made a sporty target on the run at 100 yards or so I am sure.

  • Ronnie's Coyote Hunt

It was Sunday 6:30am the hunt was on. My first time out (this year)!! Mike
Bigelow stopped by to pick me up, he let me use his 22br(my Remington 22-250
action is still in a br rig). The trusty White Truck found the first coyote
not long into the hunt. Well lets just say he shouldn't have crossed the
road, the 22br dropped him. Now it was Mikes turn, down went the next one
with Mikes new light 22-250 rig. Then Cory popped one, then Hoppie and his
pal got one, one more for me and one more for Mike B. Next Mike D.(who
really worked hard for his first one) walked 1/2 mile out in to a section
then a 1/4 mile to the east, got his the first go at this coyote at about 10
ft. It took Mike D. a few shots, but he did one last long poke at him a good
300 + yds. and dumped him (the coyote). It was my turn again and guess what?
I blew a gravy 50 yd. shot. That's ok because he got to meet Mikes 22-250.
Just when we were about to call it a day, Hoppie spots a pair of coyotes.
One was smart and didn't show up, but the other one ran into Mike D. and his
22-250. Well that was the daily record for us, 9 coyotes out of 11 spotted.
What a day it was, we had a blast.
    Ronnie
